At Manchester Moving and Storage, we believe in packing your goods the right way. A well-packed move is the first step in a successful relocation. We have provided you with some tips that we hope will help you in your move.
Materials
Boxes and cartons should be made out of strong, corrugated cardboard and have some type of cover or closing flaps.
Manchester Moving and Storage uses boxes specifically designed for the moving industry. We sell all types of special boxes from legal totes to mattress cartons, regardless if we pack you or you pack yourself.
Items Not to Pack
All flammable liquids and aerosol cans must not be packed. Changes in temperatures inside a closed moving van can vary, and in the summer can reach well over 100 degrees. Extreme heat and pressure can cause containers to leak or even explode. If you pack any of these items, any damage to your goods or other peoples belongings will be your responsibility, the mover can not be held responsible.
Here is a sample listing of items not to pack:
Flammables
Gasoline
Lighter fluid
Turpentine
Oil base paint
Matches
Ammunition
Propone tanks |
Kerosene
Paint thinners
Tar removers
Bleach

Explosives
Auto batteries |

Moving Day Box - Out
Packing and moving can be very stressful and cause one to not remember everything. We suggest you pack a special box that will contain anything you may need on moving day. This may include towels, toiletries, prescriptions, baby items etc.
Moving Day Box - In
It is a good idea to pack a carton or cartons that will contain everything and anything you may need as soon as you arrive at your new home. This box(s) should be the last item loaded on the truck so it can be easily identified and taken off first. Some suggestions for your box are: Special food items, snacks for the kids, light bulbs, flashlight, first aid kit, tool box or small tools, paper plates and cups, paper towels, toilet paper, telephones, etc.
